Bibi Reviews Wagamama...

For our traditional Easter dinner we all went to Wagamama. Now this is somewhere I've actually been before. In fact we've been so many times that they are actually starting to recognise us when we go. I guess that already sums up my love for it.

Having been many times before I have had pretty much everything off the menu. And I love it all. For a starter we always go for the same thing of chicken gyoza and a raw salad. But yesterday we also got the goma wakame salad. I don't think I can actually put my love for the raw salad into words. It is quite possibly the nicest thing I have ever eaten. And its the salad dressing that makes it so delicious. I want to buy it and have it at home. The chicken gyoza again are really yummy, another one of my favourites. They also come with an amazing sauce. Its like a soy sauce but slightly spicy, you have to dip them in it to get the full benefit. Its a perfect combination. However I didn't particularly enjoy the goma wakame salad. It was basically a seaweed salad but I just didn't get on with the texture of it and i found the sauce quite sweet and I really don't like sweet food with savoury. But it was nice and spicy.

Raw Salad
For my main I shared the yasai yaki soba with my mum. I don't usually share but it turned out to be the perfect amount along with all the extras. Its basically noodles with bean sprouts, pepper, mushrooms, spring onions and garlic all coated in some kind of sauce. On top are these pickled ginger strips which I really don't like as I don't like ginger but my mum enjoyed them, so it worked out well.  I added some chili oil and chili flakes to mine which made it even nicer as it was lacking a bit in flavour, however I would definitely order it again.

My other sister order the chicken katsu curry. A personal favourite of mine. And because she was so full on chocolate there was lots for me to finish! This dish is so delicious. Crispy breaded chicken, lots of sticky white rice covered in a spicy katsu sauce. And last but not least a small portion of raw salad on the side! You can't really ask for a nicer plate of food. I usually always have this as I'm pretty sure I will never tire of it.

My youngest sister ordered of the kids menu again and had the chicken ramen. A big bowl of soup with noodles, chicken, sweetcorn and spinach. I used to love this one, and I still do but I find it a bit bland and could do with a bit more flavour or spice. But if you want something nice and warming its the perfect thing. Plus I absolutely love the way you get a bit ladle to eat all the sauce with.

Finally my dad had the teriyaki salmon soba which he had been waiting all day for and fully enjoyed! As you can probably guess its grilled teriyaki salmon on a bed of soba noodles with lots of vegetables and a curry oil. I didn't try any of this but it looked and smelt very nice! Although he did say that he would have preferred it with rice, but I suppose thats more of a personal opinion.

I don't really have a bad word to say about Wagamama as it is one of my favourite restaurants. I like the way it is laid out in benches it has a very communal feel to it and no matter what time you go there is always other people in there. If I did have one criticism it would be that the food comes at different times. Its usually OK and doesn't take too long but sometimes other people have nearly finished their meal and yours has only just arrived. I'm sure I will soon be back eating at wagamama and to be honest, I cant wait.

Bibi Reviews Nandos...

Yesterday me and my family went to Nandos for the first time. I've wanted to go for quite a while now as its become very popular and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Basically its just chicken and chips. But its pretty amazing chicken and chips, and its not just that. Its the whole restaurant dining experience which makes the meal so much more interesting than any other restaurant. And having been I can really see why everybody loves it so much.

After quickly being seated the waiter came over and explained how everything worked. Its simple but genius. You pick what you want of the menu - I had the 'Chicken Breast Fillet Burger' with chips and a corn on the cob. Then you decide how hot you want it: plain, lemon&herb or mango lime, medium, hot and extra hot. I went for hot as I absolutely love spicy food. But even for me it was spicy, so be warned. Once everybody has decided you go up to the till and order your food and pay. You collect all the sauces, cutlery and drinks you want (which are refillable by the way) and then wait for your food. We didn't wait long it took about 5 minutes and it was all ready.

The food itself was absolutely delicious. The chicken was the nicest, softest, spiciest chicken I think i've ever had. It was topped with more sauce some salad leaves and a tomato. The combination was just amazing and I absolutely loved it. The chips were how chips should be, crispy on the outside but full of fluffy potato inside. The corn on the cob was crispy and juicy. The perfect side to the perfect chicken. The peri peri sauces on the side again were really nice too, I particularly enjoyed dipping my chips in them.

The rest of my family all really enjoyed their meals too. My youngest sister, who is 11, had the kids menu and it was the perfect size for her plus she got frozen yoghurt or a lolly with it. We all agreed we would definitely go again.

Overall I really enjoyed going to Nandos. I loved the way it worked and how busy and lively the atmosphere was. Because usually when we go to restaurants its either empty or loads of adults talking very quietly. I also think it was reasonably priced for the amount of food you get and it means that I could go with my friends and have a really nice lunch. I can't wait to go again and i'm already planning what to have next!

Bibi Reviews...

Hi my name is Bibi - as you've probably guessed. I'm 15 years old and love food, clothes, films and books.
My mum is always nagging at me that I don't do enough stuff and that I just spend all my time on my phone. But really a lot goes through my head and that's when I came up with 'Bibi Reviews'. The idea behind it is to just give my opinion on restaurants that I've been too, or something I've bought or watched that I particularly enjoyed. Hopefully that way you can enjoy them too.
