As a mid-week treat, and the fact that my dad was working from home my mum, dad and I all went to Wabi for lunch. Wabi is a japanese, sushi restaurant that does delicious food but lots of cocktails in the evening!
This was the second time I had been and the first time I didn't really enjoy my meal too much. It was too sweet and I personally can't mix sweet and savoury foods. However this time we went it was one of the most delicious meals I've had in a very long time.
I basically had the sushi bento box. it came with three different types of vegetable sushi and a salad on the side. I've never actually had professional fresh sushi, (except the stuff my mum makes at home), and it was so delicious. Four had cucumber in and then there were two that had these root vegetables on top. It had wasabi and ginger on side and altogether they tasted really good.
The salad was by far my favourite bit of my meal. It was one of the most amazing things i have ever eaten. It was very simple. It had avocado some salad leaves, tomatoes and sesame seeds on top. It wasn't this that made it so amazing though. It was the salad dressing that was on it. It's hard to explain what it tasted of, but it was acidic but sweet and had a mild spice going through it. It was SO yummy and the best bit was that the salad was drenched in it. However they really enjoyed it.
Another thing to note that I thought was really nice was the fact that a miso soup came with the meal. It came in a nice bowl with a few spring onions and seaweed and was really nice just before you ate.
The atmosphere wasn't great but as it was a lunch time I'll let it off. There were a few other people in there at the time but not enough for it to bring a nice feel. However as it has a very eye catching waterfall that goes down the back and sells lots of different cocktails I have seen it to be very busy in the evening. I would definitely go back and would recommend that everybody else does!
